Extra Spacing Between the Lines

An efficient way to remove the extra spaces between lines in Google Docs is using “Custom Spacing”.Custom spacing will fix the strange line spacing issues and removes extra spaces. 

1. Open your Google Docs document and select the texts.
2. Click on the Format menu –> Mouse hover on the Line & paragraph spacing option –> Choose the Custom Spacing option as shown below.

3. To remove the extra spaces between lines in your Google Docs document, customize the spacing option as below:

• Paragraph spacing before 0
• Paragraph spacing after 0 
• Line spacing: 1

Then click on the Apply button to save the changes.

Extra Spacing Between the Words

Follow the below steps to remove extra spaces between words in Google Docs.

1. Open your Google Docs document.
2. Press Ctrl + H keys from your keyboard or, click on the Edit menu –> Select the Find and Replace option

3. On the Find text box, click on it and press the space bar two times, and in the Replace With textbox, click on it and press the space bar once. Then press the Replace all button.

Repeat the same step to cover all.

Extra Spacing Between the paragraphs

Follow the below steps if you wish to remove extra spaces between paragraphs in Google Docs.

1. Open your Google Docs document.
2. Select the complete text that you wish to fix.
3. Click on the Format menu –> Mouse hover on the Line & paragraph spacing option –> Then select the Remove Space before paragraph or Remove Space after paragraph options as shown below.
