How to add a Christmas border in Google Docs
To add a Christmas border in Google Docs, follow the below steps
- Navigate to https://docs.google.com/ and click on the + button to create a blank Google document. Alternatively, you can open an existing Google document.
- Now, search in Google for “Christmas borders“ images, download your favorite Christmas borders image, and save it to a local path on your PC.
- The next step is to click on the Insert menu, select the Drawing option, and then click on the New option, as highlighted below.

4. Click on the image button and upload the image by clicking on the Choose an image to upload button, or you can also drag and drop the image. Then click on the Textbox button and add a text box inside the border, writing the text or quote that you need inside, as shown below. If you want, you can click on the Border weight button and select a width for the inner border. Finally, click on the Save and Close button. The Christmas border has been successfully added as shown in the screenshot below.

How To Add A Border In Google Docs
Below are the three ways we will discuss one by one to create borders on Google Docs.
Approach-1: Adding a border in Google Docs using a table
We can add a border in Google Docs using a single-cell table or 1 by 1 table.
To add a border in Google Docs, follow the below steps.
- Navigate to https://docs.google.com/ and click on the + button to create a blank Google document, or you can also open your existing Google document.
- Now, click the “Insert” option from the top action menu.
- Click on the Table option –> Click on the first square (1 x 1) as highlighted below.

4. Now, it will add a single-cell table. Click in between the cells, keep pressing the Enter button, and continue until the page reaches the end.

5. Now, if you want to format the border, such as increasing its width or changing its color, click on the Format menu –> click on the Table option –> Then click on the Table Properties option.
6. On the Table Properties window, select the color, width, and all other properties based on your need as highlighted below.

Approach-2: Adding a border in Google Docs using Drawing option
Another way to add a border in Google Docs is by using the Drawing option. Let’s follow the below steps.
- Navigate to https://docs.google.com/ and click on the + button to create a blank Google document. You can also open an existing Google document.
- Click on the Insert menu, select the Drawing option, and then click on the New option.

3. On the Drawing window, click on the Shape button, select Shapes, and then choose how you want your border to look based on your requirement and draw it there.

4. Now, if you want to format the border, like changing the color, width, etc., you can use the highlighted format options below and click the Save and Close button to save the changes.

5. The border will now appear in your document, as shown below. To format it again, click the Edit button, highlighted below.

Approach-2: Adding a border in Google Docs using an Image
If you don’t like the above two approaches, there is one more way to add a border in Google Docs: Using an Image. So, let’s discuss how to add a border in Google Docs using an image.
- Navigate to https://docs.google.com/ and click on the + button to create a blank Google document. Alternatively, you can open an existing Google document.
- Now, search in Google for “frame/border,” download an image for the frame or border, and save it to a local path on your PC.
- Click on the Insert menu, select the Drawing option, and click on the New option.

4. Click on the image button and upload the image, or you can also drag and drop the image. Then click on the Textbox button and add a text box inside the border, writing the needed text inside, as shown below. Finally, click on the Save and Close button to add the same border to your Google Docs.
