How to set custom Google Docs page size using “Page setup”?

Even though this is not a perfect method for customizing the page size of your Google Docs, you can use this method to find a page size that matches your desired page size or is similar to it. This method gives you an option to choose an already existing page format. To set custom Google Docs page size using “Page setup”, follow the below steps.

Step 1: Open Google Docs and sign into your account.

Step 2: Open the existing Google Docs document in which you want to set a custom page size or a new document.

  • To open the existing Google Docs document, select a file under ‘Recent documents’
  • To create a new document in Google Docs, either click on the plus sign at the top left of the screen for creating a blank document or choose one of the templates from the template gallery. 

Step 3: Once you open a document, navigate to the menu bar at the top of the screen and click ‘File’ > ‘Page setup’.

Page Sizer is an add-on that allows you to enter any number for the length and width of your page. Below are the steps to set custom Google Docs page size using Page Sizer

Step 1: Open Google Docs, sign in to your account and open the document in which you want to customize the Google Docs page size. 

Step 2: Navigate to the menu bar and click on the ‘Add-ons’ tab at the top left corner of the screen.  

Step 3: Click ‘Get add-ons’ from the drop-down menu. This will open a window where you can search for add-ons.

Step 4: At the top right corner of the add-ons window, in the search box, type ‘Page Sizer’

Step 5: Click on the add-on icon and give all the necessary permissions required to install. A dialog box will confirm that your add-on has been installed. 

Step 6: Once you’ve successfully installed the “page sizer”, navigate to the menu bar and click on the “Add-ons” tab again. Select the Page Sizer option from the drop-down menu. 

Step 7: Click on ‘Set page size’. From the window that opens, you can set your page size to any number you desire. Choose from the multiple dimension options and once you are done, click on ‘Apply’

You can now see the page size of Google Docs has changed. 

How to set custom Google Docs page size using ‘Print’

You can choose from the available page size options in Google Docs using ‘Print’. Without installing an add-on, you can change your page size easily in Google Docs using this method. To set custom Google Docs page size using ‘Print’, follow the below steps.

Step 1: Open the document in which you want to change its page size.

Step 2:  Either Control + P (or Command + P if you’re using a Mac), or 

click ‘File’ > ‘Print’ from the menu bar.

Step 3: In the print window that opens, click on the “More settings” option. Here you can find all the other options for formatting your Google Docs document. 

Step 4: In the first option “Paper size”, click on the box next to ‘Paper size’ to change the default page size. You can choose the option that best matches the page size you want.

Step 5: Now print your document by clicking the “blue Print button” or simply save it as a PDF by clicking on the ‘Print using system dialog’ button and then selecting the ‘Microsoft Print to PDF’ option.
